frequently asked questions

How can DAB events be free?

Events presented by DAB are funded by DePaul's Student Activity Fee so that almost all events require no cover charge. Events which charge admission are generally more grandiose, including Homecoming, our yearly comedy headliner, and FEST.

  • When is Homecoming?

Homecoming takes place in the winter quarter to correspond with DePaul basketball. The theme and venue are announced about one month prior. This year's Homecoming date will be announced soon.

    What is FEST?

FEST is an outdoor spring concert which has quickly become one of DePaul's favorite traditions. Presented by DAB on one of the last Fridays of the school year, it includes a day-long carnival-type activity fair called FESTival with university organizations and music acts. A three-band concert follows as the highlight, featuring familiar bands from across the country. An after-hours event concludes the night, which in the past has included comedy troupes and the DJ "Girl Talk." The acts are voted on by the student body in the winter quarter. FEST takes place on May 29, 2009.

When will DAB announce Fest bands?

FEST bands are voted on by the entire student body in the winter quarter. When contracts are finalized in early May, FEST bands are announced.

    How do I join DAB?

Submit the program assistant information sheet and email dab@depaul.edu with any questions. Then stop by our next general body meeting, Mondays at 5pm in LPC Student Life (SC 201). Meetings generally last about 45 minutes and are always open to any DePaul student who wishes to participate.
